Advancement and utilization of accelerator technologies hold significant potential to strengthen the Southeast European region, as their applications span a wide range of fields—from materials science to environmental studies, and from medicine to industry. Innovative accelerator technologies may provide sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives to existing technologies, including in areas such as nuclear medicine.
The Low-energy Accelerators Applications Workshop in Sarajevo will present advanced accelerator technologies and their applications, with the aim of fostering connections among scientists from the region, experts from international institutes, as well as representatives of society and industry. The workshop will provide a platform for capacity building and lay the foundation for the establishment of an Excellence Hub in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as initiated by IFIGENEIA EU Horizon project.
