Visit the city.
Nestled in the heart of the fields and created entirely to plans, Louvain-la-Neuve is an atypical university town. It is distinguished by an ingenious separation of pedestrian and automobile traffic, with an entirely pedestrian center. You will stroll through its winding streets, decorated with friendly squares.
Louvain-la-Neuve has become a privileged field of expression for urban art, where Belgian and international artists have transformed its walls into spectacular works. Through various initiatives, the city continues to enrich its urban heritage with striking frescoes and Street Art works.
A guided tour may be organized if we receive enough requests (min 15 participants).
Profit from the cultural infrastructures.
There are two museums in Louvain-la-Neuve:
- The Musée L, a young university museum where scientific collections and works of art are combined in dialogue for unprecedented emotions. It is the first ever large-scale university museum in Belgium, covering more than 3,830 m2 accessible to the public. What makes it special? The dialogues between the works, the unique scientific collections of UCLouvain and 3 labs where the public can manipulate the works.
- The Musée Hergé: More than 80 original illustration plates, 800 photos, documents and various objects have been brought together in a single place, magical, luminous and daring. A surprise is guaranteed with the multi-talented cartoonist: graphic designer, publicist, caricature, scriptwriter and painter in his spare time, Hergé was all this and much more.
