William van Sprolant, is a mechanical and electrical engineer with a Master’s degree in Energy Systems (EPFL, 1995, thesis on CERN’s waste heat recycling). He worked for over 40 years in Belgium, Switzerland and France. So, at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in the metallurgy and electrochemistry research laboratory, as a scientific deputy at Geneva’s Cantonal Energy Office (OCEN), or on the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble. He worked also 14 years at CERN, as staff member (ACOL project 1984-1988) and as industrial support (1991-2001). Since then, he has always been secretary of the CERN Solar Club and member of the CERN Alumni Sustainability Group.
As cofounder and CEO of CvS énergies sàrl, at Geneva's University of Applied Sciences (HEPIA, 2021–2023), he has made the exploratory study for the ULISSE project, who was funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). Today, the ULISSE project is in the process of forming a public-private advanced research consortium.

William van Sprolant, est technicien mécanicien et ingénieur électricien, titulaire d’un master en systèmes énergétiques (EPFL, 1995, mémoire sur le recyclage de la chaleur résiduelle du CERN). Il a travaillé pendant plus de 40 ans en Belgique, en Suisse et en France. Ainsi, à l’Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) au sein du laboratoire de recherche en métallurgie et électrochimie, en tant qu’adjoint scientifique à l’Office cantonal de l’énergie (OCEN) de Genève, ou à l’Installation européenne de rayonnement synchrotron (ESRF) à Grenoble. Il a également travaillé 14 ans au CERN, en tant que membre du personnel (projet ACOL 1984-1988) et en support industriel (1991-2001). Depuis lors, il est toujours secrétaire du CERN Solar Club et membre du CERN Alumni Group Durabilité.
En tant que cofondateur et PDG de CvS énergies sàrl, il a réalisé, à la Haute école spécialisée de Genève (HEPIA, 2021-2023), l'étude exploratoire du projet ULISSE, financée par l'Office fédéral de l'énergie (OFEN). Aujourd'hui, le projet ULISSE est en phase de constitution d’un consortium de recherche avancée public-privé.
