DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Anne-Mazarine Lyon (CERN)\n\nThe development of adva
nced detector technologies is key to the success of next-generation high-e
nergy physics experiments\, such as at the FCC-ee. In this context\, quant
um-engineered scintillating materials open new opportunities for innovativ
e detector designs. One such concept is chromatic calorimetry\, a novel ap
proach to homogeneous electromagnetic calorimetry that reconciles detector
homogeneity with longitudinal segmentation of particle showers.\n \nIn t
his seminar\, I first present the experimental validation of a proof-of-co
ncept chromatic calorimeter. The detector is based on standard scintillati
ng materials emitting in distinct wavelength ranges\, combined with a spec
trally dependent readout system. Results on shower profile reconstruction
and energy calibration are discussed\, demonstrating the potential of this
approach.\n \nI then present prospects for implementing chromatic calori
metry using nanocomposite scintillators\, consisting of quantum dots embed
ded in a polymer matrix. These materials are particularly promising due to
their narrow\, tunable emission spectra and their exceptionally fast timi
ng capabilities. I review the current status of the production of nanocomp
osites based on cesium lead halide and discuss their scintillation propert
ies in view of future applications in calorimetry.\n\nhttps://indico.cern.
