DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Karolos Potamianos (University of Warwick (GB))\, Me
ngqing Wu (Radboud University and Nikhef (NL))\, Paolo Martinengo (CERN)\,
Johann Collot (university Grenoble Alpes (FR))\, Francesca Pastore (Royal
Holloway\, University of London)\, Eric Chabert (Centre National de la Re
cherche Scientifique (FR))\n\n\nECFA-WISPP is a new two-week annual school
on instrumentation in particle physics\, established under the auspices o
f the European Committee for Future Accelerators.\nThe first edition will
take place at CERN from February 1 to February 12\, 2027. The school is pr
imarily intended for final-year Master’s students and first-year PhD can
didates.\nThe program will include morning lectures covering a broad range
of topics\, complemented by hands-on laboratory sessions in the afternoon
s.\nThis generic school will address a wide spectrum of detector technolog
 ies\, including gaseous detectors\, silicon detectors\, scintillators\, no
 ble-liquid detectors\, Cherenkov and transition-radiation detectors\, cryo
genic and quantum detectors. It will also cover particle reconstruction te
 chniques (tracking\, calorimetry\, muon detection)\, particle identificati
on\, electronics\, signal processing\, triggering and data acquisition sys
tems\, as well as detector modeling and simulation.\nIn addition\, dedicat
ed lectures will present major current and future projects such as the Hig
h-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) and the FCC\, together with a selection of advan
ced topics in detector instrumentation.\nAccommodation at CERN has been pr
e-booked for participating students.\nFurther information regarding regist
ration procedures and fees will be announced at a later stage.\nIn the mea
ntime\, candidates can start preparing their application file :\n\na short
CV\na motivation letter\na transcript of academic records\na cover letter
