Moving from Cppyy forks to CppJIT

• Aaron Jomy (CERN)

In 2023, compiler-research forked [wlav/cppyy][1] to re-engineer it on vanilla Clang and the CppInterOp library for the type system and reflection. The forks served as the R&D vehicle while maintaining a common history with the original cppyy project. Once the new system converged and worked end to end, the decision was made to start a successor project. This talk aims to provide a complete overview of the transition to a new monorepo, the design decisions, planned RFC process, transition guide for developer builds, and the planned schedule ahead towards a beta release on PyPI.
