DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Stefan Lueders (CERN)\n\nAbstract\nThis presentation
shall take a look at the common pitfalls when developing software or depl
oying computing services to the world. Attackers are on the prowl finding
the usual misconfigurations\, errors or blunders in such software and hard
ware and try to exploit them for their evil deeds. Attacks against CERN ar
e not an exception. Hence\, students can do better ! Learning from past in
 cidents: A Plea for Better Computer Security!\nBio\nStefan Lüders\, PhD\,
graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and jo
ined the European Organization for Particle Physics (CERN) in 2002. Since
2009\, he is heading the CERN Computer Security Incident Response Team as
CERN’s Computer Security Officer with the mandate to coordinate all aspe
cts of CERN’s computer security – office computing security\, computer
centre security\, GRID computing security and control system security –
whilst taking into account CERN’s operational needs. Dr. Lüders has pr
esented on computer security and control system cyber-security topics at m
any different occasions to international bodies\, governments\, and compan
ies\, and published several articles.\nPlease note that pictures and video
