Jamie to get from CMS the latest list of services that they expect to be provided as a high priority 2. MoU list of services 3. Which SLAs do we need to generate - 4. What are the constraints on CMS e.g. Critical CMS services must be run on standard hardware, load- balanced services. Only in exceptional cases can a stand-by machine be used - but this must be operated by CMS. Avoid complicated solutions that CERN will not understand. 5. Difficult services? Phedex - databases - Oracle and MySQL?. Centralised services such as data location - Should look at an off-site replication. 6. MoU services (i) 1. Internal Networking - probably OK 2. recording - needs the database and the castor piquet 4. calibration, etc. brings in the need for infrastructure services including -- LSF -- AFS -- main worry -- few experts, few failures, hard to fix -- mail } these services are essential and there is no piquet -- web services } although there could possibly be a piquet (ix) needs the grid piquet service - which needs PJASs and fellows 7. CMS should define people who can call out the piquet and escalate to call experts. 8. Tony to give a short statement on how CERN expects to run critical services ____________________________________________ Les Robertson LHC Computing Grid Project Leader Information Technology Department European Organisation for Nuclear Research CERN phone: +41 22 767 49 16 CH-1211 Geneva 23 gsm: +41 76 487 01 80
