Aysee Asu Guvenli
Asu is a physicist, currently a second-year PhD student at the University of Hamburg working on CMS since 2023. Her master's work focused on b-jet tagging using novel machine learning methods, and her PhD continues in that direction: teaching the muon detectors new tricks with ML, so the experiment can catch signatures from long-lived and other exotic particles that traditional reconstruction methods struggle to see. She also helps coordinate a forum within the Exotica group that brings together search methods used across the group, so effort isn't duplicated. Alongside her research, she contributes to CMS operations through shift leader, technical, and data quality monitoring shifts.
Ilayda Kahveci Gursoy
Ilayda is a Technical Student in the CMS Safety Office and an Environmental Engineering student at Istanbul Technical University. She supports CMS safety activities by conducting safety checks, following up on findings and corrective actions, and helping coordinate safety-related matters across CMS facilities and activities.
