Domenico Vicinanza July, 2007 Major work for EUMEDGRID; major changes in workplan ---------------------------------------------------------------- - SAM Server maintainance: -- Oracle XE database maintenance (upgraded the latest version of SAM db scripts) -- Database tables recreated -- Restarted the syncronization with the BDII - Working together within WP3 on the integration between SAM infrastructure and EUMDGRID support service. -- two tools (shell scripts) have been prepared to retrieve and organize test information from the project SAM installation and alert site managers sending them emails and/or SMS when a system fails because of a critical test failure. Both of two just need a configured and working SAM client, they are immediately working after a really easy configuration. The first one generates a formatted HTML the second one allows to send email and/or sms to the sitemanager when a site is failing some critical SAM test -- an integration procedure is going to be designed to make this second script able to interact with EUMEDGRID support system to raise tickets to the sitemanagers (ALICE vo is also testing these two scripts, customized to work displaying and alerting site admins just for the VOBOX tests failures) -- a tool monitoring SE disk space (displaying it as a pie chart) has been finalized and integrated together with the SE SAM results in a dynamically generated webpage. Results availble here: http://cern.ch/eumeddiskspace - Finished CMSSW installation and testing guide which has been released both in PDF (http://cern.ch/vicinanz/files/cmsswinstallation.pdf) and HTML (http://cern.ch/vicinanz/cmssweumed) - Support to EUMED siteadmins to help fixing site configuration problems to install CMSSW software - Pilot installation of CMSSW software on some test sites - Worked on the updated version of the Deliverable 2.2. EU asked CERN (as responsible for the related Action 2.2) to resubmit it with updated results and with some more details about interaction among WP2 and the Infrastructure and Application WPs (WP3 and WP4) - Contributed to Chapter 7 of the EGEE deliverable DSA1.5 "The Infrastructure Planning Guide" (the Cook-book) Major work for <GD-OPS; GD-ITR>; major changes in workplan ---------------------------------------------------------------- - SAM Test integration: -- continued ATLAS Experiment test integration: preparation of a testing environment to allow ATLAS people to safely launch tests and publish results on a development database -- Customized for ALICE VO a tool developed for EUMEDGRID to send emails and/or SMS to sites responsibles when failing critical tests. This was then requested by other experiments (LCHb is the next one). (To do: customize the frequency between the alarms (1/day, 1/week) depending on some factors) -- Following up integration of LHCb tests (basically complex tests doing software installation/validation): test have been rewritten to create SAM-compatible output files, they are submitted within DIRAC and result published by SAM publishing framework on the validation database - SAM Documentation: -- Working on SAM server installation guide for SLC4.
