DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Anna Wozniak (High Energy Department-Henryk Niewodni
czanski Inst. Nucl. Physic)\n\nThe development of advanced detector techno
logies is key to the success of next-generation high-energy physics experi
ments\, such as at the FCC-ee. In this context\, quantum-engineered scinti
llating materials open new opportunities for innovative detector designs.
One such concept is chromatic calorimetry\, a novel approach to homogeneou
s electromagnetic calorimetry that reconciles detector homogeneity with lo
ngitudinal segmentation of particle showers.\n \nIn this seminar\, I firs
t present the experimental validation of a proof-of-concept chromatic calo
rimeter. The detector is based on standard scintillating materials emittin
g in distinct wavelength ranges\, combined with a spectrally dependent rea
dout system. Results on shower profile reconstruction and energy calibrati
on are discussed\, demonstrating the potential of this approach.\n \nI th
en present prospects for implementing chromatic calorimetry using nanocomp
osite scintillators\, consisting of quantum dots embedded in a polymer mat
rix. These materials are particularly promising due to their narrow\, tuna
ble emission spectra and their exceptionally fast timing capabilities. I r
eview the current status of the production of nanocomposites based on cesi
um lead halide and discuss their scintillation properties in view of futur
 e applications in calorimetry.\n\nhttps://indico.cern.ch/event/1711305/\n\
