DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Glennys R. Farrar (New York University)\n\nEvidence
in the Ultrahigh Energy Cosmic Ray data points to binary neutron star merg
ers as their source. I will review that evidence and report on several uni
que predictions that confirm this scenario:  \n- The spectral shape inclu
ding the cutoff rigidity\, which agrees with observations.   \n- A subdo
minant higher energy proton or helium component\, seen at  >7-sigma signi
ficance in the Auger data.  Measuring the ratio between p and He in this
high energy component will give a unique probe of r-process nucleosynthesi
s and the QCD quark matter equation of state\, as will be explained. \n-
A small population of particularly high energy events such as Telescope Ar
 ray’s “Amaterasu”\, several Auger events\, and the earlier Fly’s E
ye “OMG” event.\nA prediction to be tested with future Gravitational W
ave and neutrino observatories is that every EHE neutrino (above a few PeV
) is accompanied by a co-directional gravitational wave from the BNS merge
 r.  \n\nhttps://indico.cern.ch/event/1721285/\n\nZoom: https://cern.zoom.
