DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Ouissal Moumou (Quantinuum\, UK)\n\n\nThis twelve-we
ek course builds quantum computing from linear algebra to working algorith
ms. No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics is assumed\; however\, solid f
oundations in linear algebra\, basic probability\, and working Python are
 required.\nCourse Structure & Methodology\nMathematical tools are consolid
ated at the moment they are first used—vectors\, matrices\, and rotation
s in Weeks 1 and 2\, the tensor product in Week 4\, and number theory in W
eek 11—allowing students with rusty linear algebra to repair gaps in pla
ce.\n\nWeekly Rhythm: Every week pairs theoretical foundations with either
  a pen-and-paper exercise sheet or a Qiskit practical.\nHardware Corner: E
ach week closes with a short\, arithmetic-based calculation on real device
s\, keeping students grounded in the physical reality of running circuits
across different quantum hardware platforms.\nFinal Project: A practical p
roject runs alongside weekly materials\, requiring steady time investment
throughout the term.\nOpen Courseware: The course is built on an original
open exercise pack with fully worked solutions\, authored by Ouissal Moumo
u and released under CC BY 4.0\, alongside the materials listed in the att
 ached documents.\n\n\nPrerequisites & Requirements\n\nMathematics: A first
course in linear algebra (vectors\, matrices\, matrix multiplication) and
basic probability (computing simple and conditional probabilities). Being
"rusty" is fine\, as Weeks 1 and 2 rebuild linear algebra in application\
; however\, students who have never seen a matrix will struggle with the p
ace. No calculus or quantum mechanics required.\nProgramming: Working comf
ort with Python (writing and executing scripts\, calling functions\, packa
ge management). Qiskit practicals assume this proficiency from Session 1.\
nEquipment: A laptop capable of running Python 3 and a modern web browser\
, plus a stable internet connection for weekly downloads and live sessions
. All simulators run locally\; no paid cloud computing access is needed.\n
Time Commitment: 6 to 8 hours per week (live session + weekly exercises)\,
plus steady dedicated time for the term project.\nLanguage: English (all
 lectures\, materials\, and coursework).\n\n\n\nImportant Application Notic
e:\nThe course is cumulative\; the selection process asks for a commitment
to attend all twelve weeks to receive credit and a certificate. Please ans
wer the technical questions and upload your answers during the application
process. You will find the questions in a PDF file attached at the bottom
of this page.\n\n\nAbout the Lecturer\nOuissal Moumou is a quantum comput
ing researcher from Tangier\, Morocco\, and most recently served as a Rese
arch Scientist at Quantinuum in the UK\, researching quantum machine learn
ing and circuit execution on trapped-ion hardware. She is a co-author of t
he UNESCO-endorsed African Quantum Strategy and was named one of the Afric
an Quantum Consortium's 50 Women in Quantum in Africa. Ouissal also co-des
igned an open quantum computing curriculum in collaboration with CERN for
implementation across CERN partner universities. She holds an MSc in Mathe
matics and Foundations of Computer Science from the University of Oxford a
nd a BSc from Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane.\n\nhttps://indico.cern.ch/
