DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Davide Sgalaberna (ETH Zurich (CH))\n\nScintillator-
based detectors are widely used in particle physics experiments\, owing to
their tracking and calorimetric capabilities.\n \nTraditionally\, high s
patial resolution alongside a massive active target requires both segmenta
tion and optical separation\, that comes at the cost of increased manufact
uring complexity and a massive number of readout channels.\n \nTo overcom
e these challenges\, newly developed technologies aim to enhance 3D tracki
ng performance without sacrificing target mass. For organic scintillators\
, current efforts include the high-precision assembly of tiny scintillatin
g plastic cubes or fibers\, as well as 3D-printing optically-isolated voxe
ls within monolithic blocks. Similarly\, 3D optical separation or tracking
in opaque liquid scintillators present promising options.\nFinally\, sub-
millimetre tracking resolution using arrays of plenoptic cameras imaging a
volume of scintillato\, without the need of segmentation or optical fiber
s\, can be made possible by ongoing developments in photosensor technologi
es.\n \nAfter a brief review of scintillator detectors deployed in curren
t experiments\, I will discuss ongoing R&D geared toward future detectors
 and experiments.\n \nCoffee will be served at 10:30\n \n \n\nhttps://in
