DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Cristovao Vilela (Laboratory of Instrumentation and 
 Experimental Particle Physics  (PT))\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSND@LHC (S
 cattering and Neutrino Detector at the LHC) is a compact experiment instal
 led in the far-forward region of interaction point 1 of the LHC\, covering
  the pseudorapidity range 7.2 < η < 8.4. The experiment has operated sinc
 e the start of Run 3 with a hybrid design combining an emulsion-tungsten t
 arget with scintillating-fibre tracking\, a hadronic calorimeter\, and a m
 uon system\, allowing for the identification of the three neutrino flavour
 s via deep inelastic scattering in the target.\n \nIn this seminar\, the 
 collaboration's physics results from Run 3 will be presented\, including t
 he first observation of neutrinos produced at a collider\, obtained concur
 rently with the FASER experiment\, and subsequent measurements of neutrino
  interactions. The connection of these measurements to forward heavy-flavo
 ur production will be discussed as well as the prospects for probing physi
 cs beyond the Standard Model in this unique phase space. The ongoing upgra
 de for Run 4 will also be discussed\, in which the detector instrumentatio
 n will be replaced by high-granularity silicon sensors\, the muon system w
 ill be magnetised\, and plastic scintillator timing layers will be added.\
