Description

CMB spectral distortions are a powerful probe of exotic energy injection in the early Universe, such as dark matter (DM) annihilations or decays. In this talk, I will review how the CMB acts as a calorimeter, present state-of-the-art constraints on DM decaying into electromagnetic products from CMB anisotropies, and discuss how FOSSIL, a new CMB spectrometer recently proposed for ESA’s M8 call, could explore new regions of the parameter space.
