DESCRIPTION:The Hybrid Nexus: CERN Art and Science Summit 2026 | Day 2: Fu
ll-day Event\nThe third edition of the CERN Art and Science Summit\, The H
ybrid Nexus\, explores the convergence of particle physics\, quantum techn
ologies\, and artificial intelligence\, and the ways in which these fields
extend beyond the domains of science and technology into artistic inquiry
 . \nCurated by Arts at CERN\, the Laboratory's arts programme\, The Hybrid
Nexus reaffirms CERN’s commitment to fostering dialogue between fundam
ental research\, the arts\, and contemporary thought. This year’s gather
ing draws inspiration from the observation posited by mathematician and ph
ilosopher Norbert Wiener (1894 - 1964) that the “boundary regions of sci
ence” offer “the richest opportunity to the qualified investigator.”
The Summit brings together artists\, scientists\, creative technologists\
, and thinkers to reflect on the new horizons emerging from this convergen
ce\, and their significance for research and contemporary thought across d
 isciplines.\nThrough keynote presentations\, lecture performances\, roundt
able discussions\, and film screenings\, The Hybrid Nexus opens a space
to trace the hybridisation of research infrastructures and their potential
as fertile sites for experimentation and interdisciplinary exploration. I
t will consider how the evolving relationships between science\, technolog
y\, and the arts give rise to new conceptual\, formal\, and applied approa
ches\, as well as broader questions concerning culture\, philosophy\, and
 creative practice.\n20 November | 10.00 – 16.00: Lectures\, roundtable c
 onversations and open-floor discussions | 16.30 – 18.30: Film premières
  | Auditorium Sergio Marchionne\n \nThe second day features in-depth pres
 entations\, roundtable discussions\, and conversations\, offering audience
members the opportunity to engage with the speakers. The day explores the
intersections of artistic practice\, quantum science\, and artificial int
elligence\, while critically examining the emergence of hybrid research co
nfigurations and infrastructures. \nParticipants include: Daniel van der
Velden and Vinca Kruk of the artist collective Metahaven\; artist and crea
tive technologist Declan Colquitt\, Head of Studios at Moth Quantum\; arti
sts Rosa Barba\, Dominique Koch\, Martyna Marciniak\, and Amanda E. Metzg
er\; curators and authors Marta Kuzma and Lívia Nolasco-Rózsás\; Enriqu
e Rivera Gallardo\, Director of MIM (Museo Interactivo Mirador)\; Carly Wh
itefield\, Head of Programme at LAS Art Foundation\; Puneet Anantha Murthy
\, physicist at ETH Zurich and CERN accelerator physicist Verena Kain.\nTh
e day concludes with two film premieres by artists Dominique Koch and Mari
on Tampon-Lajarriette.\nIf you would like to register for The Hybrid Nexu
 s – Day 1 on 19 November\, please go here: https://indico.cern.ch/e/art-
 science-summit2026/day1\n \nPractical information\n\nTime: doors open at
9.30\, event starts at 10.00.\nLocation: CERN Science Gateway\, Auditorium
  Sergio Marchionne\nLanguage:  English\nAge recommendation: as of 12 y.o.
 \nRegistration: free of charge\, recommended\nLight refreshments offered\n
\n \n\nThe Hybrid Nexus: CERN Art and Science Summit 2026 | Jour 2: Jour
at CERN\, le programme artistique du Laboratoire\, The Hybrid Nexus réaf
