1 Overview of the Spiral2 project, specific constraints for the vacuum system

The Spiral 2 project, under construction on the site of Ganil, will allow to produce and accelerate a wide variety of radioactive ion beams. This presentation provides a general description of the project, focusing on the safety constraints which apply to the design of the vacuum systems.
