Rainer Schwemmer has graduated in Physics from the University of Heidelberg in 2008. He was working on the development of the LHCb Outer Tracker DAQ and control system. In 2008 he joined CERN as a fellow in the LHCb Online group, working mainly on the DAQ and controls system, focussing on detector read-out and data storage. Since 2011 he is working as CERN staff on the upgrade of the LHCb DAQ system. Main focus is the rework of the DAQ network to a trigger less 40MHz read-out, the development of event building protocols and their implementation on the FPGA based read-out boards.
