Description

To prompt collaboration among the different groups in cosmology in the Léman area, we hold a common discussion session every month and a half. In those, recent news in the field are addressed by experts at a level that we can all understand. Please, suggest papers/subjects to the local organizers. The suggested papers for this session are:

i) A Supervoid Imprinting the Cold Spot in the Cosmic Microwave Background http://arxiv.org/pdf/1405.1555v2.pdf

* To be presented by Iggy Sawicki (UNIGE)

iiA) Toward an Understanding of Foreground Emission in the BICEP2 Region http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.7351

iiB) A joint analysis of Planck and BICEP2 B modes including dust polarization uncertainty  http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.5857

 * To be presented by Benjamin Audren (EFPL)

If there is time, we may briefly discuss

iii) Properties of galaxies reproduced by a hydrodynamic simulations http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v509/n7499/full/nature13316.html

 * To be presented by Diego Blas (CERN)
