Description
One of the fruitful areas of physics has been the use of analogies. Often the recognition that one form of physics is similar to, or obeys the same equations as, some other area of physics has led to insights which have clarified and explained both areas. I will illustrate this with the story of Black hole, of black hole evaporation discovered by Hawking, and of fluid flow. This has led to the first experiments to measure the radiation, show its thermal character and perhaps even show the quantum nature of the radiation.
