The first pilot call will be launched by February 06. Purpose of the pilot call is to test the provisioning of storage services to complement the traditional HPC capabilities offered by PRACE. EGI has the opportunity to join by offering besides storage component additional capabilities like distributed HTC and cloud services. The aim of the pilots is to: - Explore the opportunities arising from a joint call for free storage contribution to be awarded/allocated to selected projects, following the PRACE model of scientific excellence. The offering of other access policies like pay per use is in scope. - explore a new model of resources provision and deployment. EGI partners are encouraged to participate to Jeremy Coles: (11:24 AM) For reference: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5VNGQBV Ewan Mac Mahon: (11:33 AM) I think the advantage for us is a) PR, and b) technically getting people to use things our way. If they want to use things another way, it's both more work, and gets rid of that advnatgae.
