Description
I will discuss a long standing issue in leptogenesis, whether it can explain the observed asymmetry starting from a hierarchical neutrino Dirac mass spectrum as suggested by simple SO(10) prescriptions. I will show that this is possible even within the minimal picture of leptogenesis (thermal, type I see-saw mechanism) when the asymmetry production from next-to-lightest RH neutrinos and flavor effects are properly taken into account. The mechanism yields interesting conditions on the low energy neutrino parameters.
