Formal Methods for Software Quality 30mIn this talk, I will overview the activity carried out in Trento in the area of Formal Methods. In particular, I will focus on the technology of Model Checking, that allows for the analysis of requirements and designs in early stages of the development process. Automatic verification tools based on such technology can check the consistency of requirements, or analyze the behaviours of a design and check the compliance with a given set of requirements. They are able, for instance, to pinpoint underspecifications, interactions between functionalities, deadlocks, race conditions, and unexpected behaviours.
