CERN-ECFA OUTREACH NETWORK Purpose: To raise the profile of HEP with the public in the member states, by activating the masses of high energy physicists; to improve the efficiency of outreach by pooling expertise so that HE Physicists throughout Europe dont keep reinventing the wheel. To act as a source of advice to CERN as required, and to enable assessment of CERN's outreach programme in the member states. Structure: One or more HEP in each member state to be responsible for representing that nation's outreach activities in the CERN-ECFA network. In addition one or more representatives from the outreach programmes of CERN experiments. Representation from DESY, CERN and the official outreach programmes of other laboratories, and from leading figures in the International outreach community may also be invited as observers. Meetings: Normally two per year, either at CERN or at a venue in a member state. Executive: Chair and deputy-chair - candidates to be selected by the outreach network and to be approved by ECFA. Term of three years, renewable if agreed by all parties; deputy-chair to succeed as chair. Chair and deputy should not be permanent CERN paid staff members, though temporary secondment to CERN should not be excluded. Executive secretary/manager to be CERN staff member Reporting: Chair or a representative to report to ECFA at the end of their three year period, and at other occasions as requested though not more than annually.
