New measurement of direct CP violation in two pion decays of neutral kaons by NA48 at CERN

CP violation in the neutral kaon system has been established for a long time. Direct CP violations in K0 Æ 2 p decays have been confirmed only recently. A new measurement of the e'/e parameter based on more data collected by NA48 during the 1998 SPS proton run will be presented. The statistics is increased by 2.5 times with respect to the result already published by NA48. The experiment collects short- and long-lived K0 decays into neutral and charged final states concurrently, from the same decay region and into the same detector.
