Description
This seminar is the second in a new CERN-PPARC technology commercialisation seminar series. How should I value a technology? What's the best way to work with industry? When should I licence a technology, and when should a spinout company be established? These are the questions addressed in a new series of practical commercialisation seminars by the UK Technology Transfer Coordinator.

Seminar 2 - Partnering with industry
This workshop will focus on the "golden rules" of collaborative partnerships. Topics covered will include:
(a) benefits from partnering with industry
(b) what we mean by technology transfer
(c) why companies should benefit too
(d) the attributes of "golden partnerships"
(e) seeking funding support.

The third seminar will be held on 3/4 June 2003

Seminar 3 - Developing a spinout company from CERN
This workshop will focus on the identification of opportunities for spinout companies and the practical steps that inventors should take to establish a company and seek funding. A representative from the Rainbow Seed Fund will discuss funding available via Rainbow and other sources of finance. The Rainbow Seed Fund is a £4m UK government seed fund to which CERN staff may apply for support and equity investment if the spinout is to be based in the UK.
