- standards. Without open standards we won't have a level playing
   field and replacement of components won't be possible. EGEE has
   to use emerging standards or at the minimum document its own
   ad hoc standards.

- security. Industrial users want what might be called "box equivalent
   security" - using virtualized resources on the grid must be provably
   no less secure than using dedicated physical resources. That is
   probably a stronger requirement than eScience users have.

- robustness. Industrial users expect 24x7 SLAs these days.

- maintainability. Ideally, a grid should be plug-and-play for both
   hardware and software.
