1. Introduction
- Release of new gLite Update 3.0.2.
DESY-ZN: Bug im IS, CE-names with '-' leads to 4444 Error -> see GGUS-Ticket 11578
SCAI: Patch linked in above Ticket also necessary for configuration of dech-VOMS

- ops-VO being used in production. Start date 4.9.2006. Some sites still need to support ops-VO. Please solve during remaining week

- Reminder: GridKa School from September 11-15, 2006. Please find further information at http://www.fzk.de/gks06 .

- A whole bunch of new VOs have been activated, most of them regional in scope. List of new VOs in our region to be sent to Admins (!# C.K.).

- WMS has been discussed in the last two operations meetings in connection with the planned Biomed DC. Perspective of this service will be discussed in more detail in the coming Operations Meetings.

- Collaboration assessgrid. Call for two or three more volunteers from EGEE-partner sites to provide their job statistics to the risk assessment activity of assessgrid. Details to be sent by mail (!# C.K.).

2. Status and Plans for "DECH" VO
Mail from Ute Karabek 21/8/06 concerning status:
---------
on Friday we tried to submit jobs as a member of the DECH VO to the dech sites.
We sent jobs to the following sites:
fzk, cscs, gsi, desy(HH), desy(ZN) and Uni Wuppertal
We tried
- edg-job-submit(grid-proxy) and glite-job-submit(voms-proxy) via an RB(lcg flavour)
- glite-job-submit(voms-proxy) via a glite WMS.
We came up with the following result:
- We didn't have any success with a glite-job-submit (voms-proxy) neither via RB nor WMS.
- We had some success with an edg-job-submit via RB:
Success on desy(HH), desy(ZN), fzk, Uni Wuppertal
No success on gsi and cscs

Our guess is that the DECH voms service might not be configured on the sites.

Concerning the dech sites not mentioned in the summary above:
We checked
> lcg-infosites --vo dech ce
and got no entries for the sites not mentioned in the summary above, except for Aachen, but the site wasn't able to accept our jobs as well.
-------

Some sites configured voms service during week.
Site admins should also not forget to enrol to dech-VO.

3. Round the Sites (encountered problems, issues to discuss, ...)

*CSCS*
experienced lack of disk space for current SC, new disks ordered but encountered adminstrative problems

*DESY-HH*
routine operation, Update to 3.0.2 soon.
smaller problems with RB (many jobs unavailable, reboot necessary) MySQL database has grown to several GB.

*DESY-ZN*
has suffered from power cut in the region. Core services were not affected. Some DNS problems afterwards

*FZK*
- Information system now stabilised
- PPS reinstalled
- some intermittent problems with FTS. Investigating

*GSI*
- business as usual
- CE renewed after crash
- gLite update under debian encountered some unresolved php-dependencies, problem is being worked on

*SCAI*
- Automatically updated to gLite 3.0.2 by cron job, no new unknown bugs encountered
- encountered permission problems in relation to LFC-service, not acceptable
DESY-ZN: Similar permission problems encountered in relation to dCache: site permissions accepted, directory permissions not accepted (read) for both gridftp and gsidcap) - set up DECH VO
