Dear all, I don't really answer the questions. I stress more the difficulties in ESR to increase the impact on Grid in our communities. The number of individual applications increases however EGEE is not yet considered as an interesting tool. In ESR our main problems do not come directly from the NA4 support: - we are a generic application in EGEE ... we have no interaction at all with EGEE middleware - In EGEE and EGEEII we have NA4 support. We appreciate the support however a close intermediate is needed to make and maintain the relation between the scientist and the support. It is why several applications are ported with NA4 support and other no. - in EGEEII we exist as an application in NA4 however in many countries the partners received funding support nor from EGEE, EGEEII neither from national project. In their institute and/or organisation without a minimum of funding support they cannot work on EGEE, EGEEII. - Some ES environment cannot be ported on EGEE middleware; In order to be able to meet, continue working on ES applications and disseminate Grids in ES we proposed a SSA, DEGREE, that hopefully has been accepted. A large part of the work concerns the ES requirements based on applications, some of the requirements are the same as in DataGrid!! The other part is to investigate what tools working on Grid middleware already exist or have to be developed in order that the next Grid and service middleware fulfil our needs. For EGEEIII: - What middleware? - Is all the funding mainly going to HEP and Biomed? - an organisation based on regional organisation and thematic inter-regional organisation. * The interest of the regional organisation to obtain support -person power and funding- on a national base, dedicated programme.... * Thematic inter-regional organisation: like in VO - ES communities are developed worldwide - Some requirements have to be taken into consideration with an investigation of what exists in the scientific field, and in other Grid projects. UF2: DEGREE can provide on several topics like data management, job control and portal an overview on what exists in ES and proposed solutions or approaches in Grid projects, not only in EGEE. Monique
