Description
The baseline machine parameters of the 2016 LHC proton run are presented, with focus on beta* and the collimation hierarchy. The proposed scenario is based on input from operational experience and MDs in 2015. The parameters and settings have been chosen in order to provide significantly higher luminosity than in 2015, while staying within the boundaries where the safety and smooth running of the LHC are not jeopardized.
