Review of action items (tasks)
Status of the subtasks of
TASK:7981 : "Set-up and run Cream CE Pilot (Phase2)" (see them in the
PPS tracker )
Notes:
TASK:7157 : Verify behaviour of
CreamCE in nagios - In progress - 7d - 10% - last update: 21/11
Antonio:
EGEE/CERN/INFN-PADOVA-CREAMTEST has been created in the GOCDB
for this site all the nagios/SAm test are supposed to work, because it publishes in a simil-configuration way
the other site BDIIs will be published by CERN_PPS (or other PPS sites). This will likely cause some alarms in Nagios
The current situation of how
CREAM nodes are published in PPS is .
- Two site BDIIs are hard-coded in PPS TOP BDII (They should be not visible in SAM)
- INFN-BARI-CREAMTEST ldap://cream-ce-1.ba.infn.it:2170/mds-vo-name=INFN-BARI-CREAMTEST,o=grid
- INFN-CNAF-CREAM ldap://cert-07.cnaf.infn.it:2170/mds-vo-name=INFN-CNAF-CREAM,o=grid
- One site BDII corresponds to the site INFN-PADOVA-CREAMTEST site in GOCDB
- INFN-PADOVA-CREAMTEST ldap://cream-27.pd.infn.it:2170/mds-vo-name=INFN-PADOVA-CREAMTEST,o=grid
- One site BDII is now published in turn by the CERN_PPS site BDII *INFN-PADOVA-CREAMTEST-PBS ldap://cream-34.pd.infn.it:2170/mds-vo-name=INFN-PADOVA-CREAMTEST-PBS,o=grid
The third option (nested site BDIIs) is the less painful from the pilot operations perspective, so I would like to understand if the Nagios monitoring detects particular problems with it. If not I'd rather configure all the pilot resources in this way (attached to one existing PPS site). As this configuration does not reflect the production one if it turns out to be unusable in Nagios (e.g. too many errors reported in the published information) we will move to the approach #2
It is confirmed that now cream CEs belonging to the pilot have been imported in the SAM db. They are not visible yet in the SAM portal (no tests are sent apparently). No problems showed up in Nagios so far, still under observation.
If nothing bad happens with this configuration we will include all the site BDIIs as resourced of the CERN_PPS site. This is done in order to manage the published information at the level of sites more flexibly.
TASK:7986 : Install a Cream CE at FZK-PPS - In progress - 0% - 28 d - last update: 25/11
Angela:
Reinstallation process ongoing. We will setup an old version of
CREAM since the new one does not work properly.
Antonio: It is surprising that the installation didn't work. He suggests to get in touch with Sara who has done it at PADOVA.
Status and results of the pilot service (by VOs and sites)
CMS:
Absent
Alice:
Nothing to report
PADOVA:
No activity from CMS recorded
CNAF:
Daniele was contacted by Alice people interested to do some direct submission activity on PPS resources. He will meet them later and report to the pilot coordinator.
Status and results of the development (by developers)
Antonio asked news on
BUG:44454 (
InputSandbox files modified on creamCE (bad symbols added)
Open Issues (by VOs, sites, deployment teams)
Recommendations for release and deployment
none
Decision about termination/extension of the pilot
In absence of reports from users, the conventional end-date of the pilot is confirmed for the time being to the 16th of December
The next check-point meeting will be on the 9th of December. For that date the new tag of Cream is expected to have been released and deployed in the pilot
