Description
W pair production via quark-anti-quark-annihilation is an important signal process in the search for New Physics as well as the dominant irreducible background for one of the main Higgs discovery channels: H -> W W -> 4 leptons. Therefore, accurate knowledge of this process is vital for the LHC. Firstly, we present the result for the two loop and one-loop-squared virtual QCD corrections to the W boson pair production in the limit where all kinematical invariants are large compared to the mass of the W boson. A deep expansion in the W mass around the high energy limit combined with a numerical integration of a system of differential equations allows us to obtain the corrections for the whole phase space and with full mass dependence.
