Cosenza Visitor Information

Cosenza is a town located in the southern region of Calabria , Italy. Founded by the Bruttii in the fourth century BC, it is seat of the Cosentian Academy (one of the oldest phylosophical academy in Europe).
Today, Cosenza is a cultural hub with several museums, theatres, libraries and the University of Calabria.
In the modern part of the city, in the shopping streets of Cosenza, lies the open-air "Museo MAB" (Museo all'aperto Bilotti), which hosts sculptures by Dalì, De Chirico, Sosno, Manzù that stand in the street for residents and tourists.

Weather
 

Almost completely surrounded by mountains, Cosenza is subject to a microclimate scarcely influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. On February the temperature is about 10°C.
