Linear Optics and Coupling in the LHC
Modern particle accelerators have tight tolerances on the acceptable deviation from their design parameters. The control of parameters such as beta-functions and transverse coupling is of crucial importance for safe machine operation and performance. In this presentation the methods used to measure and correct the optics of the LHC are presented. In the end of the talk extra focus is given to the subject of transverse coupling and different ways to measure it. This talk is aimed for anyone with the interest in the methods used to control the optics of the LHC. The presentation will be given in English.
