Getting to Williamsburg

Williamsburg, Virginia is located along the mid-Atlantic region in the southeast corner of Virginia. This area is served by 3 regional airports. Taxi, shuttle and rental car service are available from all these airports to reach Williamsburg area hotels.

  • Newport News/Williamsburg Airport (PHF) is approximately 20 miles from Williamsburg and can be reached via connecting flights from major international hubs, Philadelphia & Charlotte (American Airlines) and Atlanta (Delta Airlines).
  • Richmond International Airport (RIC) is 50 miles to the north and has many more connecting options from additional airlines.
  • Norfolk International Airport (ORF) is 45 miles to the south and has similar connecting options as the Richmond airport. However, traffic can typically be more problematic to reach Williamsburg from Norfolk.

International Arrivals

The closest major international airport is located in Washington, DC (Dulles). It is about at 3 hour drive to reach the Williamsburg area from there. One can also book train travel (AMTRAK) from Washington (Union station in downtown) to Williamsburg. It is about a 4.5 hour travel time with a stop/transfer in Richmond, but it only departs twice daily.
