Sherpa tutorial
The tutorial will be given by Sherpa author Marek Schoenherr (Universität Zürich), and by Philipp Millet and Sebastian Thuer (RWTH Aachen University) for CMS specific software customisations and hands-on exercises.
This tutorial addresses experimental users and will be held on Monday 29 August from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM at CERN, but it will be possible to partecipate remotely on Vidyo. PLEASE REGISTER if you're planning to join, as this will help the organisation a lot.
The morning session from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM is a general introduction and it is open to anyone interested
Covered topics include:
- general introduction
- LO and NLO event generation
- loop-induced processes
- event reweighing
- integration of UFO models
- phase-space enhancement
- usage of sherpacks
In the afternoon session, dedicated to the CMS members only for technical reasons, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM the usage of Sherpa within CMS software framework will be introduced with hands-on exercises.
