Chair: Pete G Minutes: Matt D Apologies: Jeremy C, David C Attending: Brian D, Elena, John B, John H, Kashif, Steve J, Gareth R, Daniela, Gordon S, Raja, Winnie, Chris Brew, Sam S, Terry F, Andy W, Alessandra, Dan T, Tom W. Experimental Updates LHCB- nothing to report CMS- trying to change SAM tests to gfal2 - however this isn't working as well as CMS say - sites shoud look at their results. https://etf-cms-prod.cern.ch/etf/nagios/ Gareth - we noticed a blip but fixed itself - saw lots of transfers at zero rate. Daniela advises ignoring this for 24 hours. Brian - we had a lot of issues with the right version of gfal. -mentions version in the tarball, but generally thought that's okay. Pete G sees problems with xrootd test, but Daniela says that is harmless for a Tier 3. ATLAS - some problems at QM, Dan thinks it's to do with Gridftp on a 1G link. Some problems at Birmingham Matt D - things are piling up a bit at Birmingham, they should be offered support. Other VOs - no news Meetings and Updates Pre-GDB meeting http://indico.cern.ch/event/394831/ Security Operations Centre Face to Face - David attending. GDB http://indico.cern.ch/event/394784/ Presentations from David and Ian. MWR meeting last week - https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/MWReadinessMeetingNotes20160706 Matt D - mainly CentOs 7 WN and UI talk. Kashif - from 1st of July Argo takes over monitoring - very simlilar to nagios. Kashif started decommissioning to reduce the number of Ops tests being sent out. VO nagios will be kept running until a replacement comes - not sure how that's going to work. Full decommissioning will starts soon. Gareth R - are we sure that these are production ready? Seeing lots of source failures? Should we be concerned? Kashif - Point me to these errors please, https://argo-mon.egi.cro-ngi.hr/nagios/cgi-bin/status.cgi?host=svr019.gla.scotgrid.ac.uk&servicestatustypes=16&hoststatustypes=15&serviceprops=0&hostprops=0 Gareth - Red for 4 days, stage in failures. See similar error in argomon2 https://argo-mon.egi.eu/nagios/cgi-bin/status.cgi?host=svr019.gla.scotgrid.ac.uk&servicestatustypes=16&hoststatustypes=15&serviceprops=0&hostprops=0 Kashif - we need to open a ticket with argo - shouldnt be using srm-atlas. It might be that this SE is (wrongly) publishing Ops support. Assume "small hiccups" to begin with! Brian notes in chat window that "btw , can't access argo links due to nto being in dteam" Tier 1 update Brian - Better understanding of the tape system problems, now kinda stable. FTS upgraded at VO request, that's about it. Tickets - nothing exciting brought up. Perfsonar Brian - PIC are doing sustained 10m IPv6 perfsonar tests - other sites might be interested in that. It is quite an invasive test though. Pete G- we might be interested - our IPv6 is a lot better then our IPv4 results Brian-IPv4 tends to be more congested, so probably not as good a target for tests. Pete G - that's probably why our Ipv6 is better then IPv4 Reminder - quarterly reports. Pete G - will look at reviewing the reports today to see if they need updating, hopefully in time for this round of reports but if not then for next time. AOB Pete G mentioned the possibility of moving to fortnightly Ops meetings over the Summer - there was overwhelming support for this idea. Chat Window.
