Minutes of the MSSM subgroup meeting: Modelling pT distributions Thu, 4th August 2016, 11:00-11:50 13 participants: Adinda de Wit, Andrew Gilbert, Alessandro Vicini, Emanuele Bagnaschi, Hendrik Mantler, Michael Spira, Pietro Slavich, Rebecca Lane, Rene Caspart, Robert Harlander, Roger Wolf, Yuta Takahashi, Stefan Liebler Talk by Yuta Takahashi. Comments: Michael Spira: - Differences between spectra of H and A at large tanbeta proportional to bottom-mass. Consistency check can be performed by a variation of the bottom-quark mass. - Beyond Delta_b the procedure misses genuie squark effects. Also the procedure by construction does not take into account the higher order contributions employed in the SM (known for top in the heavy top-limit). - Yuta's numbers were presented with fixed scales muR=muF=mphi/2, even though a dynamical scale is prefered, i.e. sqrt(pT^2+mphi^2). Alessandro Vicini: - A consistency check can also be performed by a comparison to the MSSM implementation of POWHEG. Roger Wolf: However the scale setting of hfact is not so easy to perform then. Michael Spira: Squark effects (at small tanbeta) can be cast into the top-quark contribution, i.e. the setting of the top-quark resummation scale is of relevance. Talk by Stefan Liebler: There is agreement that uncertainties should be included in the prediction. Further steps: Convert the note of CMS into an LHCHXSWG note including uncertainty discussion. At a later stage think of an inclusion into the ROOT files.
