We present the first out-off-equilbirum analysis of relativistic
collision dynamics in the vicinity of a critical point. We numerically
solve shock wave collisions in a one parameter family of holographic
models with phase transitions of different orders. For a unique value of

This talk will give an overview of recent efforts to understand hydrodynamisation of the quark-gluon plasma away from the infinite coupling approximation. This is done using Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory, which reproduces several features of finite coupling physics, such as a larger \eta/s of 0.15.
