Notes from BI ELENA meeting

1. Updated commissioning schedule (20-Oct-2016) (Gerard T.):

• H-/proton source beam commissioning expected from week #46
• No beam from AD before early 2017
• General remarks: ELENA ‘vistar’ would be very useful (request to C. Carli and OP)

1. Individual system status

Orbit system (L. Soby, Diogo):

• VXS crate with CPU and timing connected and powered
• ADC/DSP electronics expected to be installed from next week (Ricardo)
• Front-end software (LNR.BPM device) expected to be clone of AD system (Diogo)
• Turn-by-turn firmware will not be done by RF – need people in BI/PI (L. Soby)
• Expert software tools for first commissioning (new GUIs being designed) (Diogo)
• Likely no valid measurements before beam is bunched from RF
• Local timing configuration being prepared (Diogo)
• Worries about how to handle coasting beam (non-cycling) (Diogo/Ricardo)
• OP tool (YASP) to be configured for ELENA by early 2017 (Diogo/Jorg)

Circulating Scraper/profile (Pierre G.):

• Crate installed in new position due to cabling issues
  • No ELENA timing available here (request made for new fibre + BE/CO) (Pierre/Alexandre)
• MCPs to be tested next week
• FESA3 Software testing on-going in lab (need timing for in-situ testing)

KEK Micro-wire SEMs (Gerard T.):

• At least one detector with read-out required for 2016 (SEM #1)
• Problematic electronics with no specifications – what next? (Gerard)

BTVs (Stephane B.):

• Detectors installed (LNI * 1, LNR *2)
• LNR devices on ELENA injection timing – will be done 02/11/2016

Tune (Marek):

• Infrastructure missing (Ethernet, timing and 220 power) in the rack (ground floor)
  • Solutions to be found in the coming days (Marek with EN/EL and BE/CO)
• Software (BQSB) will be clone of AD tune server
  • OP application (P. Freyermuth) expected to be used (Diogo/Stephen)
