Remarks on SYK-like theories

The SYK theory provides a quantum mechanical set-up where to test, both analytically and numerically, the physics of strongly correlated systems. We will review why this is the case, why this can be interesting for research in holography and time permitting, we will comment on higher dimensional generalizations.
