Description
The workshop CPT and Lorentz Symmetry in Field Theory will be held in Faro, Portugal, on July 6-7, 2017 and is organized by the University of the Algarve and CENTRA. The workshop is directed at theoretical physicists interested in issues related to CPT and Lorentz symmetry in Quantum Field Theory and Gravity. We intend to create an environment conducive to discussion of recent work and to the exchange of ideas.
Expected topics include theoretical and phenomenological aspects of departures from CPT and Lorentz symmetry, involving:
- Classical and quantum field theory, gravitation, particle physics
- Phenomenology at the level of the Standard Model, General Relativity, and beyond
- Origins and mechanisms for departures from Lorentz and/or CPT symmetry
- Mathematical foundations, Finsler geometry
The program is expected to consist of review talks and of contributed talks, with ample time for discussion.
The number of participants is limited.
