      PAD CONSTRUCTION
      • Schedule

The decision has been taken for the Pad to use APSOPUR.

Fermilab will do the 20 support islands in cement-based with a flatness adjusted to +/-1mm.

Fermilab will order and install the bearing plate of 19mm to put on the 20 support islands.

Fermilab will order and install the G10 for the 20 support islands + 38 wall support islands.

CERN ordered the APSOPUR H85-12 + APSOPUR P250-12 and we will receive them on the 9 of March.

We will send them to Fermilab and it will arrived about the 20th of March.

We will need 2 lifting beams of 10000kg (22000 livres) and 5 to 6 meters long (16 to 19 feet)

[FGG MAR-1-2017] One 30ton - 16 ft long spread bar was identified and is reserved for ICARUS. The second one has to be purchased. A requisition was submitted FEB/28/2017. - delivery time is 4 weeks. Consulted with Frederic prior placing the order and it was the impression that would be OK.

Just noticed that the length was not set but actually set as a range [16 to 19 ft]. This is news from the previous requests. If there is a reason for the spreader bar to be longer, then we have to cancel the order and purchase two new lifting fixtures. Please advice.

We will need 10 lifting straps of 3 Tonnes and lifting pliers

[FGG MAR-1-2017]  Fermilab bought 10 lifting slings 3 tons capacity. Delivered and staged at the detector site.

Lifting pliers have been identified and is current reserved for ICARUS when needed.

After discussion, we need 4 straps more of 5 Tonnes from 2 to 4 m long. And Fermilab need to take care of the fixation between each hook of the cranes and the 2 lifting beams.

We will need 4 concrete blocks of 1 feet width.

[FGG MAR-1-2017] The blocks have been identified and reserved for ICARUS. Ben and rad work tech surveyed the blocks - found to be <.01 mR/hr.

We will need some angle iron (2x2 inches) of 6 meters (20 feet) to weld on the wall during the installation

[FGG] request Qty and thickness - Frederic replied Qty: 4  Thickness: 1/4” (or not far).

We will proceed with the procurement this week.

We will need as well 6 Square metal of 6 meters (20 feet)

[FGG] request Qty - Frederic replied: Qty: 6 pieces

      Assumption:  4" x 4" x 1/4" (2 X 6 meters long) - accepted.

We will proceed with the procurement this week.

We will need one welder during the second weeks and for the first week we will need just is validation on the grinding.

      [FGG] Topic for discussion

      FNAL Questions

      1. Please define the leak tight requirements and the leak-testing process.
      2. What are the tools to perform the test? Will CERN send to FNAL?
      3. We need a procedure that describes how the leak test should be conducted and specs for weld acceptance.

      TOOLING
      • Tools validation

[FGG] The air compressor was tested and certified. It has been moved to the detector hall. One can regulate the pressure.  Likely another one will be moved to the building for backup.

The tools were revised by the electrical safety committee chair. A detailed email was sent last night. I need to discuss further with our safety expert to ask for guidance. At first glance, we won't be able to use the Hitachi angle grinder & Milwaukee impact wrench because these tools are non-NRTL equipment. We are looking for alternatives.

All pneumatical tools are accepted and the one on battery will be accepted (to be confirmed by Fernanda)
