Dr John White: Received my MSc in particle physics in 1994 with a thesis on the spatial resolution of electrons in the ATLAS electromagnetic detector. In 1998, I completed my PhD in particle physics on the OPAL detector at LEP with a measurement of the hadronic decays of the tau lepton. Work during the period at the OPAL detector included online computing and operation of a sub-detector. During the OPAL period participated in the work and experience of the the first possible observations of the Higgs boson. In the Grid computing era of the European Data Grid and EGEE projects, I worked on the development of and direct user support of a Grid Database access system and a proxy delegation service. I participated in the production and deployment of the encrypted data storage system. In the later stages of these projects I was made the security cluster manager and the deputy manager of the overall gLite middleware effort.
