Description

Given the successful exploitation of individual supercomputers, for instance Piz Daint (#3), Titan (#5), Mira (#11), and several others, we would like to bring together LHC experiment experts and HPC site experts to discuss issues and commonalities of LHC application workflows on supercomputers.

Topics of interest are

  • Code distribution
  • Data ingestion and fan-out
  • Translation between job management systems
  • Job preemption

The meeting aims at being a path finder to integrate supercomputer shares into the experiments' resource pools
in a more automated way, similar to the integration of cloud resources.

We welcome contributions!  If you'd like to present, please let us know under pre-gdb-hpc@cern.ch.
