Follow-up from previous meeting

MQ: ActiveMQ support could not verified (lacking proxy certificates support), so in current configuration only RabbitMQ passed fully an integration/system test. ActiveMQ could still be used with username/password and with standard certificates. To be discussed further later. 

Current situation

DIRAC:

• v6r17p23 is the last production version
  • Only a minor fix
• v6r18-pre14 is out
  • Decided to go back to pre-releases, as it was discovered that RSS (main feature of v6r18) interfaces were not backward compatible.
    • v6r18-pre14 looks like fixing this incompatibility
  • New gLogger -> new logging code has been included
    • Only used after hotfix
    • Not

LCG bundles:

• Version 2017-05-23 is used in production in LHCb
  • not announced properly, but it was agreed that it can be done, as this should be considered the recommended version as of now

• A new bundle 2017-07-XX is in preparation, not successful up to now
  • Aiming anyway at SLC6 + CC7 (complete)
  • Updated FTS3 version
  • Updated GFAL2 version
  • Tried to bump xrootd version to 4.5.0 and 4.6.0
    • 4.6.0 buggy - waiting for 4.6.1 which is not yet available
    • Looks like libstd++ now needs to be distributed too (it was not the case)
    • Compiled versions look to be different than before, mess is not yet sorted out

Release planning, tests and certification

Release planning:

• v6r17 series
  • #3390 should be expanded including comments in #3388 (Ueda)
• v6r18 series
  • Decided to declare v6r18 branch a dead branch (see problems above)
  • This should be properly announced to the forum.
• v6r19 series
  • All PRs now targeting v6r18 will be re-routed to v6r19, which become the new development version
  • PRs for v6r18 of today's will become part of first tag v6r19-pre1
  • PRs originally for v6r19 will become for v6r20 (or v7r0)
  • [Externals v6r6]
    • Compiled v6r6 version
      • general bump of versions
      • still problems with openssl (latest version could not compile, so used 1.0.2l)
      • first tests on CC7 not successful
        • pyGSI unable to create proxy
      • SLC6 tests to be done

    • PR for it ready to be merged
  • The full support of CC7 for DIRAC v6r19 can't be assured (issues are mostly external to DIRAC but nothing we can do)

  • Deployment in dev area of CVMFS for pre-releases
    • may not be available to all sites for grid use (Ben will check)
    • We'll sit all together next week to do a clean one and document it.
• LHCbGrid (kept from previous meeting, not discussed here as lack of time):
  • gcc62 (and centOS) version are not fully working as of now as QT5 is still missing and QT4
    • work done from IFT not complete
    • This is still the only one thing missing
    • so no BKK GUI
    • This is still what is keeping us from modifying the default CMTConfig on lxplus6, which right now is fixed at gcc49
