SC4 Combined Action List

Major Updates

• October 2 2006 - Clean-up & archive of old actions
• August 21 2006 - Debugging of variable transfer rates into CERN added (CMS)
• August 4 2006 - FTS monitoring / log issue moved to 'General Actions'

The action list below is based on the summary of the Service Challenge Technical day held at CERN on June 21st (see this presentation for more details). This represents several rounds of discussions with the experiments and sites, including:

• The SC4 workshop held in Mumbai prior to CHEP;
• The WLCG Tier2 workshop held at CERN in June;
• The technical day itself;
• Numerous interactions with the experiments and cross-checks at LCG Resource Scheduling Meetings.

Actions preparing for Q3/Q4 (CMS CSA06 etc.)

General actions

• Site monitoring of local services - to be discussed in detail at September 15 SC Tech Day
• Tools to monitor transfer activities on FTS channels; provide access to FTS logs (Gavin, Paolo) ( Temporary solution being tested )
• Improve the performance and reliability of the gLite Resource Broker (critical path for CMS CSA06)
• Support multiple priority levels for grid batch jobs (critical path for LHCB distributed analysis)
