Follow-up from previous meeting

• LCGBundle 2017-05-23 is used in production in LHCb but still not properly announced on the DIRAC wiki
• v6r18 is a dead branch: releases removed
• gitHub project management: all issues that are not in DIRACGrid/DIRAC and WebAppDIRAC have been closed (and no possibility to open new ones)

Current situation

DIRAC:

• v6r17p24 is the last production version
  • Only a minor fix
• v6r18 wiki and release notes will be merged in v6r19
• v6r19-pre2 is out
  • Backward compatibility of RSS looks like fixed
  • Using externals v6r6
  • New gLogger -> logging code tested via hotfix in certification setup
    • No problems up to now
  • Included also change for allowing special payload error code to be interpreted by the jobWrapper(Template)
    • e.g. for job rescheduling
  • FTSFile: DB tables lengths extended (maybe to a not-so-smart value)

WebApp:

• NTR

Pilot:

• NTR

Externals:

• v6r6p2 compiled for both SLC6 and CC7
  • openssl 1.0.2l as main feature
  • not all versions of every package could go in (e.g. freetype) but managed to bump the versions of all the packages
• The post-installation script can be revised to absorb python-only extensions [Andrei]
  • This may be a change in next major version of the externals

LCG bundles:

• New Versions v11r14 and v12r4 are in testing
  • We discourage their use for now
  • Next production version in late or after summer

PyGSI:

• Repository has been moved in the DIRACGrid/ organization on github
• New version 0.6.5 compiled and included in Externals v6r6 series
• Not yet put on PyPi
• Discussed possibility to link github repo to pypi
  • Andrei advised to be careful because it's mostly C and not python

Release planning, tests and certification

Release planning:

• v6r17 series
  • #3390 should be expanded including comments in #3388 (Ueda). Further discussed, agreement reached.
  • #3402, #3404 can be included
• v6r19 series
  • v6r19-pre will be created to include:
    • #3405, #3407, #3408 can be included
    • Too early to include MultiProcessor support
    • [Externals v6r6p3]
      • Should include also PR #31
      • both SLC6 and CC7
    • [WebAppDIRAC v2r2p4]
  • Reminder: the full support of CC7 for DIRAC v6r19 can't be assured (issues are mostly external to DIRAC but nothing we can do)

  • First will be done based on v6r19-pre3
• Client release of LHCbDIRAC
  • Asked about stopping deployment to AFS from v9r0
    • Ben will discuss it at the Core SW: no answer yet?
  • Deployment in dev area of CVMFS for pre-releases: decided to NOT pursue it
• LHCbGrid:
  • Mess, and more mess. Right now, the only working version is gcc49. Decided not to touch further for now.
