How to Install the CERNBOX sync desktop client on a Mac or a Linux distribution.


To install the client on a Mac, download it from this page that you can access from your CERNBOX main files page.


Download the file and open it. Once it’s finished with the installation you will find it in your applications and you can start the client.




Enter your CERNBOX credentials 


Accept the default settings and click on "Connect...".


The installation is over and you can click on "Finish". This icon  means that your local folder is now synchronised with the server




If you are a Linux user installing the CERNBOX sync desktop client, follow the instructions for your specific Linux distribution from the same page.

For example for Ubuntu. Open up your terminal, and run these Commands.



You will see the CERNBOX sync desktop client in your applications once you’re finished.


Then you can open it and you can simply follow the steps we saw before in order for your local folder to be synchronized with the server.
